Zephyrs upend Devils, 5-2

VIRGINIA �” Charlie Adams netted a hat trick as Mahtomedi, ranked fifth in Class A, skated past sixth-ranked Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at “Bree” Cuppoletti Arena in Virginia.

Brandon Zurn and Johno May also scored for the Zephyrs, who snapped a 3-3 tie with two goals in the third period.

Christian Belobaba and Garrett Hendrickson each lit the lamp for the Blue Devils (7-5-2). Goaltenders Tanner Marcotte of Mahtomedi and Casey Myhre of Virginia/MI-B each finished with 40 saves.
