Virginia Area Wrestling takes a tough loss against Hibbing 56-19

The Bluejackets took an early 30-0 lead and never looked back in defeating the Blue Devils 56-19 in action at the Hibbing High School Gymnasium.

Virginia coach Rick Erickson said he was pleased with the way his team wrestled, adding that he hopes the Blue Devils will be a much better and stronger team by the end of the season.

“Bailey Felix did a great job for us in his first time down at 135 and he really had to sacrifice and work to get down there,” Erickson said. “Kyle Nanti wrestled a smart match and stayed on the conservative side. This last weekend, he got himself stuck in a couple of situations where he wasn’t being conservative. Alex Flanigan looks really nice. The other guys are coming along.”
